Winter Sowing on the Coldest Days

The kitchen table covered in milk jugs, soil, and seed packets — winter sowing day

There's something really grounding about starting seeds when everything outside still looks asleep.

Today was winter sowing day — milk jugs lined up outside, dirt on the table, kids helping in their own chaotic but enthusiastic ways. Some of these seeds will end up in the garden this spring. Some may eventually become dried botanicals or infused oils. And some honestly might not make it — and that's part of it too.

This is the slow part of everything. The quiet prep work before blooms, before harvests, before anything feels finished.

Growth is happening even when you can't see it yet.

Wild Flour & Petals was built in seasons like this — small steps, a little mess, learning as we go, and trusting that growth is happening even when you can't see it yet.

Lavender seeds — tiny things that hold so much potential.

Wild Flour & Petals has always been built inside real life — kids helping, soil on the table, and small moments that don't look like "business" but matter the most.

I love this part.
